SzimplaFilm is the main organiser of Film Baltica, the cinema section of the Baltic Sea Festival, which is a joint venture between the cultural institutes and embassies of eight countries.

The first edition of this uniquely co-operative project opened in September 2009, including brand new films and retrospective shows from the participating states.
